Privacy Policy

Information you provide directly:

• Reading profile: the name or nickname you enter, gender, relationship status (single, dating, married, or separated or divorced), calendar type (solar or lunar, including leap month), date of birth, and — optionally — time of birth (by two-hour period).
• An optional note about what is on your mind (up to 300 characters).
• Chat messages you exchange with the reading persona.

We do not currently offer accounts or sign-in, so we do not receive passwords or profile data from sign-in providers. If sign-in is offered in the future, we will update this policy before collecting such information. We do not collect photos, precise location, contacts, or other files from you.

Derived content: from your profile, the Service computes your saju (Four Pillars) chart and generates your reading and chat replies with AI. This derived content is stored with your reading.

Information collected automatically:

• A salted one-way hash of your IP address, stored with each reading you start and used to prevent abuse (for example, limiting how many readings can be started from one network in a short time). We do not store your raw IP address with your content.
• A randomly generated device identifier stored in a cookie, used to list the readings you started on this device and to attach guest purchases to them.
• Service metadata, such as timestamps, the reading’s status and language, and AI usage metrics (model, token counts, processing cost, and response time) recorded with readings and conversations.
• Campaign attribution data, when present: UTM parameters (source, medium, campaign, content, and term), campaign, ad set, ad, and creative identifiers, ad click identifiers (such as fbclid), and the origin of the referring website — never its full address, path, or query (see Section 5).
• Technical request data (such as IP address, browser type, and pages requested) that our hosting provider processes to deliver and secure the Service, and short-lived operational logs we use to troubleshoot errors.

Payment information: payments are processed by Stripe. We receive and store order details — order number, product, amount and currency, any coupon and discount applied, payment status, the Stripe payment reference, and a receipt link — never your full card number or bank credentials. We also store the email address you give Stripe at checkout, if provided, so that we can identify your purchase when you contact us (for example, to recover access or request a refund) and, if sign-in is introduced, so that you can connect past purchases to an account.

Marketing preference: if we ask at checkout whether you would like to receive occasional promotional emails, we record your choice with the order. We send promotional emails only if you opt in, and you can withdraw consent at any time via the unsubscribe link in any such email or by contacting hi@slipstride.com. Declining has no effect on your purchase.

• To calculate your chart, write your reading, and power the written conversation with the reading persona.
• To save your readings and conversations so you can return to them through their link or from the device you used, and to let you share a reading’s first chapter by link if you choose.
• To process purchases, apply coupons, track chat turns, and handle refunds and payment disputes.
• To notify our operators of orders and refunds, and to provide customer support.
• To operate, secure, and improve the Service, prevent abuse, and respond to inquiries.
• To understand, in aggregate, which campaigns and referring websites bring visitors to the Service (see Section 5).

Your reading profile (name or nickname, gender, relationship status, and birth date and time), your note, your chart data, and your chat messages are sent to our AI provider — currently Google (Gemini API) — to generate readings and replies. These requests pass through our own relay, which runs on Cloudflare in the United States. If the primary route is unavailable, the same request may be sent through OpenRouter, Inc., which forwards it to Google’s models. This content is sent for the purpose of generating a response for you, and each provider processes it under its own terms and privacy policy. AI output can be inaccurate.

The Service is hosted on Cloudflare Workers, and our database runs on Cloudflare D1, both provided by Cloudflare, Inc.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We share information only with service providers that help us run the Service, each acting under its own contractual and legal obligations:

• Google LLC — AI processing (Gemini API) and web font delivery (Google Fonts).
• OpenRouter, Inc. — backup routing of AI requests to Google’s models when the primary route is unavailable.
• Stripe, Inc. — payment processing. Stripe collects your payment details (and may collect your email address) directly on its checkout page, under its own privacy policy.
• Cloudflare, Inc. — hosting, database, network security, and our AI relay.
• Telegram — delivery of internal order and refund notifications to our operators. A notification contains the order number, product, amount, and a link to the associated reading; the notification itself does not include your profile, birth details, or reading text.
• Authorities or other parties when required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and integrity of the Service and its users.
• A successor entity, if Slipstride is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this policy.

Reading links: each reading has its own private link, and anyone who has that link can open the reading — including its unlocked chapters and conversation — and use its chat turns. We do not publish reading links, and reading pages are excluded from search engines. Please keep your links private.

Share links: if you create a share link, anyone who has it can view the first chapter of that reading together with the name or nickname you entered. The paid chapters, your conversation, and your birth chart are never included. To disable a share link, contact hi@slipstride.com.

We use only first-party cookies, set by mujinam.com, to run the Service:

• mujin_device — a random device identifier used to list the readings you started on this device and to attach guest purchases (up to 1 year).
• locale — remembers the language you chose (up to 1 year).
• mujin_coupon — holds a coupon code from a promotional link so it can be applied at checkout (up to 30 days).
• mujin_atr — campaign attribution, described below (up to 90 days).
• mujin_gpc — records that your browser sent a Global Privacy Control signal, so that our servers honor it too (up to 1 year).
• mujin_session — reserved for a signed sign-in session if sign-in is offered in the future (up to 30 days); not currently set.
• mujin_admin — used only by our operators to access administrative tools; never set for visitors.

When you arrive through a link carrying campaign parameters, or from another website, we store an allow-listed attribution snapshot (the values listed in Section 1) in the mujin_atr cookie for up to 90 days, so the source is not lost as you move between pages. A newer campaign link or referring website replaces the earlier snapshot, and direct or internal visits do not extend its expiration. When you start a reading, the snapshot is saved with that reading so that we can measure which campaigns lead to readings and purchases. Values are length-limited, and only the referring website’s origin — not its path or query — is kept.

We do not currently load third-party analytics, advertising pixels, or other third-party tracking scripts. Our pages load web fonts from Google Fonts (except for the mainland China version), so your browser connects to Google’s servers, which receive your IP address and browser details. If we add analytics or advertising measurement in the future, we will update this policy to describe it, and we will continue to honor Global Privacy Control and opt-out requests.

If your browser sends Global Privacy Control, we clear the attribution cookie, do not attach attribution values to your reading, and record only that the signal was present.

• Readings (profile, chart, and generated text) and conversations are kept so you can return to them, until you ask us to delete them or we delete them as part of routine data management.
• Purchase records are kept as long as needed for accounting, tax, and dispute-resolution obligations, even if the related reading is deleted.
• Hashed network identifiers and attribution data saved with a reading are deleted along with that reading. The attribution cookie itself expires after 90 days.
• Operational logs are kept only for a short period, for troubleshooting and security.
• When you request deletion, we delete or de-identify your personal information without undue delay, except where retention is required by law.

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, or a copy of the data you provided, by emailing hi@slipstride.com. Because the Service does not use accounts, we may ask for the reading’s link or the email address used at checkout to confirm that a request is yours. We honor applicable rights under U.S. state privacy laws (including the California Consumer Privacy Act) and other laws that apply to you, and we will not discriminate against you for exercising them. If you are in a jurisdiction with additional rights — such as South Korea (PIPA), Japan (APPI), Taiwan (PDPA), Hong Kong (PDPO), Singapore (PDPA), mainland China (PIPL), or the European Union (GDPR) — we will accommodate verified requests consistent with those laws.

The Service is operated from the United States. Your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States and in other countries where Cloudflare or our other service providers operate, which may have different data protection laws than your jurisdiction. By using the Service, you understand that your information will be processed in this way.

The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact hi@slipstride.com and we will delete it.

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards — such as encrypted transport (HTTPS), randomly generated device identifiers, reading pages excluded from search engines, signed administrative sessions, hashed network identifiers, and access controls — to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will provide notice through the Service and update the date above.
