Terms of Service

mujinam.com (無盡庵, “Mujinam”) is a saju (四柱, Four Pillars of Destiny) reading service provided for entertainment, offered in Korean, Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, and Japanese. Its core features are:

• Saju readings: you submit a short profile — a name or nickname, gender, relationship status (single, dating, married, or separated or divorced), calendar type (solar or lunar, including leap months), date of birth, and optionally your time of birth (by two-hour period, 時) — and, if you wish, a short note about what is on your mind (up to 300 characters). The Service calculates your Four Pillars chart from these details and uses AI to write an interpretive reading of 11 chapters, the first of which is free.
• Written conversation (pildam, 筆談): a full reading includes 5 chat turns in which you can exchange written messages about your reading with the reading persona, and more turns can be purchased. Each message you send uses one turn.
• Fiction notice: readings and replies are written in the voice of Hyeonmuk (玄默), a fictional scholar-monk of the fictional mountain hermitage Mujinam (無盡庵), and are presented as drawn from his “restored” gan-myeong-cheop (看命帖) ledgers. Hyeonmuk — including his portrait and the life dates (1921–2008) given in the story — the mountain hermitage, the ledgers, and all related characters and backstories are fictional creative works; any resemblance to real persons, living or deceased, or to real places or institutions is coincidental. The Service is not affiliated with any religious organization and does not provide religious services.

The Service is provided for entertainment and personal-reference purposes only. Saju readings and written conversations are not medical, psychological, psychiatric, legal, or financial advice, are not a diagnosis or treatment of any condition, and are not predictions you should rely on when making decisions. Readings and replies are generated by AI and can be inaccurate, inconsistent, or inapplicable to your situation.

• You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your jurisdiction) to use the Service.
• No account is needed: you can take a reading, unlock the full reading, and buy chat turns as a guest. A reading — and everything purchased for it — is tied to that reading’s private link, and the readings you start are also listed on the device you used (through a first-party cookie).
• Anyone who has a reading’s link can open it, read its unlocked chapters, and use its chat turns, so keep your links private. If you believe someone has accessed your reading without your permission, contact us at hi@slipstride.com.
• If you lose access to a reading you paid for, contact us with the email address you used at checkout and the approximate date and amount of the purchase, and we will help you recover it where we can.
• Sign-in may be offered in the future. If it is, we will update these Terms and our Privacy Policy to describe it.

Starting a reading and reading its first chapter are free. Paid products are:

• Full reading (간명첩 전문 · 看命帖全文): unlocks all 11 chapters of a reading plus 5 chat turns for that reading. The paid chapters are written by AI after you unlock them and usually appear within a few minutes.
• Chat-turn packs: 10 or 30 additional chat turns for a reading.

• Prices are shown before you pay, in the currency tied to the language of the reading (KRW, TWD, HKD, JPY, CNY, or SGD). The language — and therefore the currency — is fixed when the reading is created.
• Prices, contents, and quantities of paid products may change; changes do not affect purchases already completed.
• Chat turns are used one per message you send and belong to the reading for which they were purchased; they cannot be moved to another reading.
• Promotional coupons may reduce the price of an eligible product — in some cases to zero, in which case it is unlocked without payment. Coupons are subject to the conditions stated with them (such as validity period, eligible product, currency, and number of uses) and cannot be exchanged for money.
• Unlocked readings, chat turns, and coupons are limited licenses to use features of the Service; they are not money, have no cash value, and are not transferable.

Payments are processed by Stripe, Inc. on its hosted checkout page. We do not collect or store your full card number or bank account details; your payment information is handled by Stripe under its own terms and privacy policy. Stripe may ask for your email address at checkout and share it with us so that we can identify your purchase. You are charged in the currency shown at checkout, and your card issuer may apply currency conversion or foreign transaction fees.

Refunds for paid products are governed by our Refund Policy at mujinam.com/refund (written in Korean, with Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, and Japanese translations for reference; the Korean version governs). In summary: if you have not yet opened the paid chapters of a full reading, you may request a full refund within 7 days of payment; unused chat turns may be refunded within 7 days, pro-rated if partly used; if a full reading fails to generate or cannot be opened because of a problem on our side, or if you were charged twice, we refund in full regardless of the period; and content you have already opened is generally not refundable, except as required by law. If a payment is refunded or disputed, access to what it unlocked is revoked. To request a refund, contact hi@slipstride.com.

You retain ownership of the profile details, notes, chat messages, and other content you submit (“User Content”). You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, and process your User Content solely to operate and improve the Service — including transmitting it to the AI providers we use to generate your readings and replies. If you submit information about another person, you confirm that you are entitled to do so. If you create a share link, anyone with that link can view the first chapter of the reading (the paid chapters and your conversation are not included) until you ask us to disable it.

• Do not use the Service in a way that violates any law or the rights of others.
• Do not submit content that is unlawful, infringing, or harmful to others.
• Do not attempt to disrupt, overload, reverse engineer, or gain unauthorized access to the Service, or circumvent usage limits or payment requirements.
• Do not use automated means to access the Service except as permitted by us.

The Service — including its design, artwork, the Hyeonmuk persona and its backstory, the reading and ledger formats, software, and text — is owned by Slipstride or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. Except for your User Content, we grant you only a limited, personal, non-transferable license to use the Service as intended. You may keep and share readings generated for you for personal, non-commercial purposes.

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT AI-GENERATED CONTENT WILL BE ACCURATE OR RELIABLE.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SLIPSTRIDE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AROSE, OR (B) ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS (US$100). SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW CERTAIN LIMITATIONS, SO SOME OF THE ABOVE MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.

You may stop using the Service at any time and may request deletion of your readings and related data by contacting hi@slipstride.com. We may suspend or terminate access to the Service (or any feature) if you violate these Terms or where reasonably necessary to protect the Service or its users. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including Sections 7 and 9–14) will survive.

We may modify the Service or these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes to the Terms, we will provide notice through the Service (for example, by updating the date above). Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Before filing a claim, you agree to first contact us at hi@slipstride.com and attempt to resolve the dispute informally. Any dispute that cannot be resolved informally shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, and you consent to their jurisdiction, except where the law of your place of residence grants you non-waivable consumer protections or venue rights.
